Every 3 December, the rights and concerns of people with disabilities come under the spotlight: on the international day of people with disabilities. Under the motto (and hashtag) #PurpleLightUp, participants promote awareness around the world. Everyone can and should participate.

UniCredit Bank Austria is also involved in promoting the interests of people with disabilities. Each of the 122 branches of UniCredit Bank Austria is organised to be accessible well beyond what is required by law. And Bank Austria belongs to the 22 percent of companies in Austria who meet the legally prescribed quota for employees with disabilities. We currently have 300 employees with disabilities working for us.

Disability management for more awareness

In 2010, an internal Disability Management team was created within the group. Its main task is raising the awareness of all employees: Many colleagues without disabilities are often unaware of barriers and discriminatory situations.

In 2018, Disability Management at UniCredit Bank Austria won both the Zero Project Award for its SmartBanking in sign language, and the Disability Matters Award for inclusive workplaces.

In 2019, Disability Management at UniCredit Bank Austria won the Austrian Leading Companies Award for its inclusive workplaces.
