How can you verify your identity online?
Identification with ID Austria
Video identification and digital signature
The simplest and quickest way to verify your identity during the registration process is by using ID Austria.
This is the next step of the Handy-Signatur and Citizen Card, and serves as your digital identity.
You will need the full version of ID-Austria. No additional documents are required.
The identity verification process takes only a few minutes.
You can conveniently complete the online account opening process using video identification and digital signature. Your identity will be verified via webcam while you are, for example, at the office or at home.
The identity verification is carried out by our cooperation partner IDnow GmbH.
Process Overview:

You verify your identity using your passport or national ID card.
You also confirm your mobile phone number by entering an SMS code. - Redirection to Digital Signature
After successful completion of the identification process, you are automatically redirected to the digital signature of your documents.In some cases, this redirection may take up to three minutes.
Please do not close your browser window during this time. - Document Review and Signature
You may review and download your documents.
The digital signature is completed by entering an additional SMS code sent to the previously confirmed mobile phone number.

Debit card design
During the account opening process, you have the option to select a special design for your debit card.

Opening an account online with video verification takes only 15 minutes. All you need is a valid photo ID, a smartphone and an email address.
With ID Austria, the identification process takes only a few minutes. Required: ID Austria (full version), smartphone, and email address.
