Structured addresses will be mandatory for SWIFT and SEPA payments starting in November 2026

As part of global payment modernization under ISO 20022, only structured postal addresses will be permitted for SWIFT, SEPA, and Euro Express transfers starting in November 2026. Unstructured free-text entries will be rejected. This change affects all personal and business customers who send or receive SEPA, international payments, or Euro Express transfers.

Payment Services Act

The Payment Service Directive (PSD) contains the principles for the standardisation of European payment transactions. It applies to all currencies within the defined scope of ZaDiG 2018.
