Google Pay – contactless, secure and fast

You can use Google Pay* on many modern Android devices with an NFC (near-field communication) function. Payment is contactless, secure and fast. Google Pay is moreover easily installed on your Android device or Wear OS smartwatch. 

You can use all the benefits of your debit card (BankCard), debit card (MegaCard) or Bank Austria credit card with Google Pay. Payments can thus be made flexibly and securely – whether online or in a store.

Paying in stores or restaurants

With Google Pay you can pay contactless by activating your debit card or Bank Austria credit card for Google Pay and holding your smartphone or your smartwatch to the POS terminal. Please unlock your device to pay. 
You can also use Google Pay for online payments.

For contactless payments you have to activate the NFC function on your device, set Google Pay as a standard app for payments and set up a screen lock.
You can check and adjust these settings in the Google Wallet*: click on your profile picture/account icon and “Payment Methods”.

Where can I pay with Google Pay?

At all NFC-compatible POS systems or where the Google Pay logo is displayed. This applies to stores and webshops.

Adding your card to Google Pay with the MobileBanking app

In the MobileBanking app click on › Products › Cards › Select card › Services › Add to Google Pay.

Google Pay for in-app and app-payments

Google Pay also facilitates payments in webshops and apps. If Google Pay is available, all default data are automatically accepted. You no longer have to type in a shipping or billing address, nor any credit card codes. All you need to do is click on the Google Pay logo and follow instructions.
