New customer promotion at UniCredit Bank Austria: account and credit card free of charge for the first year
- UniCredit Bank Austria is offering new customers free account management and credit card annual fees for the first year – the promotion is valid for accounts opened by 31 December 2026
UniCredit Bank Austria's current promotion for new customers offers one year of free account management and a Mastercard credit card with no annual fee in the first year for accounts opened by 31 December 2026. In addition, customers who sign up for the “Just-in-Case” internet banking protection package by 30 June 2026 will receive a starting bonus of €25.

The UniCredit Bank Austria account models Online, GoGreen and Relax are tailored to different customer needs – from accounts for digital users to accounts with a focus on sustainability to accounts for intensive use for those who like to keep things simple. For all account models, new customers who open an account by 31 December 2026* will receive free account management for the first year. Services include a debit card with Apple Pay or Google Pay, the MobileBanking app, 24You internet banking, 24-hour ServiceLine and CashBack Online.
Credit cards free of charge in the first year
New customers also benefit in the area of cards: Bank Austria Mastercard Classic, Gold, Platinum and World offer different service packages and there is no credit card fee in the first year. Mastercard credit cards are issued by Bank Austria and thus offer all services from a single source.
The “Just-in-Case” internet banking insurance protects against financial losses caused by phishing, Trojans or fraudulent transactions in the context of internet banking. When opening a current account by 31 May 2026 and taking out insurance by 30 June 2026, customers receive a starting bonus of €25***, which covers the premiums for the first year. For the Plus or Premium options, the starting bonus covers part of the premium.
Existing customers without a current account also benefit, as the promotion also applies to UniCredit Bank Austria customers who do not yet have a current account. When opening a current account, they also receive one year of free account management and a credit card with no annual fee in the first year.
New customer campaign
In UniCredit Bank Austria's new campaign, the new customer promotion is being advertised in online adverts, posters and screens in stations/public transport, on the radio, in branches and on social media.
The campaign focuses on two long-time friends who buy a snack at a snack bar during a break at a sporting event. One of them spontaneously orders everything he can think of – to his surprise, his friend orders exactly the same thing. When paying, it becomes clear that with a UniCredit Bank Austria account, it simply feels better. With a debit card and credit card included in the account, customers enjoy maximum flexibility – uncomplicated, secure and usable everywhere. The campaign slogan sums it up: “I want an account like that too.” Now with free account management and no credit card fee in the first year.

*The promotion applies to new account customers who open a Bank Austria current account in conjunction with internet banking by 31 December 2026. The account maintenance fee is waived for one year from the date the account is opened (the quarter in which the account is opened plus the following four quarters); after that, the agreed standard account maintenance fee will be charged.
** The promotion applies to new Bank Austria Mastercard credit card customers. If you apply for a Bank Austria Mastercard credit card by 31 December 2026, no card fee will be charged for the main card in the first year of the contract; from the second year of the contract onwards, the annual fee agreed in the card contract will apply.
*** New current account customers who open a Bank Austria current account in conjunction with internet banking by 31 May 2026 will receive a starting bonus of €25 when they sign up for one of the three ERGO Just-in-Case internet banking group insurance packages, provided that the application for ERGO Just-in-Case group insurance is submitted by 30 June 2026 at the latest via the link provided for this purpose in the Bank Austria Internet banking communication centre. The starting bonus will be credited to your account in the month after the first Just-in-Case fee has been debited. The Just-in-Case fee will be debited from your account on a monthly basis.
