Albert Angersbach starts as new Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at UniCredit Bank Austria on 1 April

As previously announced in December 2025, Albert Angersbach, currently Head of Credit Risk Operations at HypoVereinsbank (HVB), will take up the post of CRO at UniCredit Bank Austria on 1 April 2026. He will succeed Wolfgang Schilk, who will take up the role of CRO at HVB in Germany on 1 April 2026.

Albert Angersbach returns to the bank where his career began. He started in 2006 as a Corporate and Industry Analyst at UniCredit Bank Austria. After serving as Credit Officer at Deutsche Bank, he rejoined UniCredit Group in 2010, taking on leadership roles including Head of Underwriting and later CRO at ATF Bank in Kazakhstan. Angersbach subsequently held CRO positions at UniCredit banks in Croatia, Turkey, Russia, and Bulgaria. Most recently, he served as Head of Credit Risk Operations at HVB in Munich. He holds a Master’s degree in International Finance and Law from Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (2006).
