UniCredit is pleased to roll out its first Pop-up branch at the annual outdoor film festival that opens tomorrow on the Rathausplatz in Vienna.
"The new pop-up branch was developed in the UniCredit Group", explained Helmut Bernkopf, a member of the Management Board of UniCredit Bank Austria. "The launch underscores our position as an innovation leader in the banking industry and demonstrates our focus on customer needs." Bernkopf, who has responsibility for retail and corporate customers at the bank, stressed the importance that UniCredit places on providing customers with new options and services as it develops the "Bank of the Future". "Now that we have opened the first of our new-style branches in Vienna's Wiedner Hauptstrasse and the first of our redesigned self-service branches in Stephansplatz, we are very proud to present the pop-up branch. It represents another milestone in the development of our innovative range of branches. There could be no better occasion to hold its premiere than at the film festival on the Rathausplatz on June 28."
The "branch on the fly" concept
The concept for the new Pop-up branch was conceived and developed by Marco Berini, who heads the UniCredit Research & Development department along with Riccardo Prodam, implemented as a cross country design and globally usable mobile branch format by UBIS Global Real Estate Projects and was adapted by SmartBanking Solutions Austria for deployment in Austria. The project was designed to make intelligent use of limited space and to take advantage of multifunctional technology adaptable to every customer's needs. With a footprint of just seven square meters, the size of a camper van, the Pop-up branch makes it easy for customers to interact with bank personnel in a convenient and personal environment. The carefully thought out design makes banking an intuitive and comfortable experience.
The Pop-up branch offers a convenient place for audience members at the film festival on Vienna's Rathausplatz to withdraw cash. Its location is close to the Burgtheater on the Ringstrasse. Two terminals at the Pop-up branch also offer in-depth information on services and products. Free WiFi is also available. Staff members from Bank Austria will be on site to provide customers with information and advice from noon to 2 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All other services are available 24 hours a day.
"Our Pop-up branch is ideally suited for the two-month-long film festival on the Rathausplatz. Since the festival was launched, visitors have been unable to withdraw cash anywhere in the festival area. This has been cited as a shortcoming by the festival operators from the beginning. UniCredit Bank Austria is now addressing this need," said Bernkopf.
In the future, the Pop-up branch will make regular appearances at major events and in busy locations elsewhere in other countries where UniCredit is present.
