Bank Austria crowns Austria’s Business Master
On Saturday, 360 students from all round Austria met at UniCredit Center in Kaiserwasser, Vienna to compete in the national final of the Business Master competition; as on real stock exchanges, the students invested, speculated and calculated for two hours.
In the "Junior Individual" category, Adin Mulic from Ingeborg Bachmann Secondary School in Klagenfurt prevailed against his classmate Markus Essl and Elias Arthofer from NMS Markt Allhau. The winner in the "Senior Individual" category was Endrit Lushtaku from BHAK Voitsberg, beating Manuel Lang (HAK Oberpullendorf) and Milovan Skrobonja from BHAK Grazbachgasse in Graz. In the "Junior Team" category, Ingeborg Bachmann Secondary School from Klagenfurt was victorious over Sir Karl Popper School from Vienna and Vocational School 1 in Gmunden. HAK Auhof from Linz won the "Senior Team" category, followed by HAK Oberpullendorf and BHAK Voitsberg.
Learning through play
The "Business Master" board game is a mix of Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit and was developed specifically for school education purposes. The game is part of the international "Schoolgames" project, which helps teachers in preparing their students for the real challenges of business life. Schoolgames is used in 2,000 schools around the world, including 800 in Austria.
Financial training for children and young people
"Learning to understand the often complex correlations of business life through play is hugely important for the future of our children.
