Thomson Extel awarded CA IB best research house in CEE

  • Prestigious annual ranking of European brokerage firms among asset managers
  • CA IB Research ranked 1st place in Extel Survey

In the "Thomson Extel Pan European Survey 2003", published in June, CA IB received the award for „Best Research in Central Europe", despite strong competition from ING, UBS, Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney Citigroup. The results of this poll among the world's leading money managers once more prove the excellent reputation of CA IB´s research team in the professional investment community.
Together with the ranking of individual analysts - particularly Katalin Dani from CA IB Budapest as number 2 among CEE research analysts - and excellent rankings for Trading & Execution and Equity Sales confirmed CA IB's position as one of the top brokerage firms for Emerging European equities.

„We are especially delighted about this award. The Thomson Extel awards are often referred to as the "City Oscar's" and provide the most reliable benchmark of where you stand relative to your competitors", says Peter Szopo, member of the managing board of CA IB International Markets in London.

The highly prestigious "Thomson Extel Pan European Survey" has been conducted for 30 years, for the past five years organized by the British financial information provider Financial Thomson. The Extel Survey provides a detailed and independent assessment of the European securities industry solely based on the votes of fund management companies investing in Europe. The voting process and the reliability of the data were monitored by Deloitte & Touche. This year more than 900 fund management companies with assets of US$ 9,656bn participated in the survey.
