  • The Special Economic Zone in the Campania region was recently created by the Italian Government
  •  UniCredit Bank Austria presents the key benefits to Austrian companies
  • For companies operating in the Special Economic Zone incentives are streamlined customs processes, fiscal breaks, financial advantages and simplified administrative procedures

UniCredit Bank Austria presents to Austrian companies the Special Economic Zone in the Campania Region recently created by the Italian Government. The Special Econmic Zone includes the ports of Naples, Salerno, Castellammare and the surrounding logistic areas, as well as two major freight villages in the Campania Region. Within the Special Economic Zone, companies will benefit from simplified administrative and bureaucratic procedures through Campania regional law and national measures.

“Key benefits of the Special Economic Zone in the Campania Region for the companies include streamlined customs processes, fiscal breaks and financial advantages in addition to simplified administrative procedures. The goal is to promote the growth of companies already operating in the Special Economic Zone as well as attracting new ones”, says Susanne Wendler, UniCredit Bank Austria Management Board member responsible for Unternehmerbank. “As part of UniCredit, a successful pan-European Commercial Bank, we are proud to be able to present this investment and growth opportunity to our Austrian clients”, she adds.

Italy as well as Austria are core markets for UniCredit, with a strong Corporate Banking presence in both countries. UniCredit’s network in Italy, Germany, Austria and Central and Eastern Europe works closely with branches, representative offices and correspondent banks around the world to provide a seamless banking experience. Clients can leverage on four UniCredit International Centers, dedicated structures of more than 300 professionals with solid experience in managing international transactions, in order to efficiently coordinate their cross-border business.

Tax credit on investments up to 50 million Euros
The Special Economic Zone aims at fostering the region’s economic development as an industrial and logistics hub. Incentives aim at both, supporting companies helping modernize existing production sites as well as developing new industrial settlements leading to the creation of innovative products. Amongst others, incentives for foreign direct investments include tax credit on investments up to 50 million Euros or access to credit, while investment terms require a seven-year minimum commitment. The Special Economic Zone is set to last fourteen years, a term which can be extended once for an additional seven years' period.
