The Supervisory Board of Bank Austria has appointed Romeo Collina, Chief Operating Officer of Bank Austria, as Bank Austria's new Deputy CEO with effect from 1 October 2016. Carlo Vivaldi, who has held the positions of Deputy CEO and Management Board member responsible for CEE, is leaving the Management Board of Bank Austria following the transfer of the CEE Division to UniCredit S.p.A. He will continue to be responsible for the CEE Division as a member of the Executive Management Committee at holding company level. Both decisions were implemented as planned and already communicated in February 2016.
Moreover, the Supervisory Board of Bank Austria has appointed Gregor Hofstätter-Pobst, 44, as the bank's new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With effect from 1 October 2016 he will succeed Mirko Bianchi, who was appointed UniCredit’s new Group CFO in September 2016.
Erich Hampel, Chairman of Bank Austria's Supervisory Board: "I would like to thank Carlo Vivaldi and Mirko Bianchi for their excellent work over the past years and wish them every success in their new functions within UniCredit at holding company level. Romeo Collina is an excellent Chief Operating Officer and I am convinced that he will also do an excellent job as Deputy CEO of Bank Austria. Moreover, I am pleased that we can again welcome an outstanding expert from our own ranks, the Austrian Gregor Hofstätter-Pobst, as a new member of Bank Austria's Management Board. This appointment proves once again that we benefit from a large potential of top managers in our banking group and it shows that international assignments within the Group are attractive. Various steps in his career have led our new CFO from the Vienna Head Office to our London Branch and, after a brief period in Risk Management in Vienna, to UniCredit Bank Slovenia. Most recently he was CFO in the Czech Republic, and in the Czech Republic and Slovakia."
Hofstätter-Pobst has held various responsible positions in Accounting, Tax, Controlling, Risk Management as well as Finance and Credit Treasury – since 2001 as a manager and since 2009 as Chief Financial Officer of UniCredit Czech Republic, where in his capacity as CFO he joined the management board in 2011, and since the end of 2013 as CFO in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Born in Austria, Gregor Hofstätter-Pobst completed his studies of business administration at Vienna's University of Economics and Business in 1997. He joined Bank Austria Creditanstalt in June 1996, where his work in the Accounting and Tax department focused on financial reporting and preparing quarterly and annual financial statements. In July 2000 he moved to the London Branch for one year, where he was active in Finance. From July 2001 to September 2003 he headed the Treasury Controlling team within the Risk Management Division at Bank Austria Creditanstalt’s Head Office in Vienna before moving to Ljubljana as Head of the Finance and Market Risk Division of UniCredit Bank Slovenia. After almost six years in Slovenia, Hofstätter-Pobst was appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer of UniCredit Bank in the Czech Republic, and in his capacity as CFO he joined the management board of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic in 2011. Since the successful merger in December 2013 he has been CFO and management board member of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia. Gregor Hofstätter-Pobst is married and the father of three children aged 10, 13 and 17.
