So MobileBanking with apps for iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices presents a key pillar for SmartBanking at Bank Austria, also including personal consultations by video call.

"Appathon 2015 confirms our willingness to challenge our knowledge, to keep on learning and our commitment to maintaining an edge in banking innovation. These are the focus of our forthcoming IT plan and will be at the center of all UniCredit business structures," said Paolo Fiorentino, COO and Deputy CEO of UniCredit, explaining the motivation of his company to organise an event like the UniCredit Appathon.

Helmut Bernkopf, Member of the Bank Austria Management Board for Commercial Banking, adds: "We are seeing a rapid increase in MobileBanking, which goes hand-in-hand with the increased use of smart-phones among our customers. Today roughly 760,000 of our customers already handle their banking business online, for whichmore than 250,000 actively use MobileBanking. Among mobile users we expect to see an increase to 350,000 active users in the coming years based on the growth rates so far. It is therefore essential for us that our apps really offer advanced access to digital banking services with the utmost in user friendliness. And to be able to keep our finger permanently on the pulse in this respect we are inviting the most innovative FinTech and app developers in Austria, Germany and Italy on 7 and 8 November 2015 to develop the best ideas for future financial service apps together at the first international UniCredit Appathon."

The aim of the UniCredit Appathon 2015 is to present trends and development paths for digital financial services and develop innovative ideas for solutions and apps. This is why Bank Austria is inviting these creative minds to the UniCredit Center at Kaiserwasser.

24 hours of looking into the future of banking
Digital visions regarding the future of banking will be created simultaneously in Austria, Germany and Italy for the first time. They will also be able to test their solutions and app ideas in a realistic IT environment using selected technical interfaces of the Bank (API/Application Programming Interface) for the first time, and present them to the jury. The participants can choose between three topic areas: "Target Savings –Wealth Planning", "Asserts under (Self)-Management" or "Customer Centric Wallet".
