Banking on earning opportunities at the international equity markets with capital security: The new Global Player GarantieAnleihe of Bank Austria
- Investing worldwide: The new Global Player GarantieAnleihe of Bank Austria offers earning opportunities with 20 equities of international companies and capital security at maturity
UniCredit Bank Austria offers from now on the new Global Player GarantieAnleihe 2015–2022 with an equity basket comprising 20 stocks of well-known international companies. The bond offers furthermore capital security until maturity.
The equity basket is composed of so called global players with strong market positions in the sectors of automotive, technology and electronics, food and beverages, oil and pharmaceutical industry as well as insurance and banking. The companies include for example Coca-Cola, Siemens, Danone, 3M, Münchener Rück or Unilever. They achieve their earnings with worldwide established products. Investors can benefit from chances of the increase in value of 20 selected global player-companies in case of global economic growth.
“This bond offers interesting opportunities on the equities market in these times of low interest rates. The companies in in the equity basket are among the best in their areas and therefore offer good revenue opportunities”, explains Helmut Bernkopf, Bank Austria Management Board member for retail and corporate customers. “The capital security at maturity also significantly limits the risk of holding the investment to the end of the whole term.”
The value of each stock on 13 observation dates in the first and last year is recorded and an average derived to measure performance. This averaging method mitigates the risk of sharp price fluctuations at the start and the end of the term significantly. When the basket matures, investors benefit from the entire positive average performance of the equity basket.
In the event the performance of the underlying equity basket is negative, the bond has a capital security guarantee of 100 per cent at the end of the term. This means the bond will be paid back at least at the nominal amount of EUR 1,000 per bond. The capital is invested for a total of seven years, and the bond can be sold under normal market conditions at its current price.
