This Fixzins-Obligation (fixed-interest bond) is tailored to meet the needs of investors who want to invest their money for a manageable term and want to rely on fixed interest. The new 1.70 per cent Fixzins-Obligation 2013–2017 Serie 62 has a term of four and a half years and offers capital security when it is held to maturity. This bond is denominated in units of EUR 1,000 with a minimum investment of EUR 3,000.
Regular earnings with fixed interest
From 7 January 2013 to 6 July 2017, the bond offers fixed interest of 1.70 per cent p.a.1), payable annually, for the first time on 7 January 2014 and with a final short coupon covering the period from 7 January 2017 to 6 July 2017.
Availability and security of capital
Investors receive 100 per cent of the nominal value of their capital at the end of the term.
If investors require their money before maturity, 1.70 per cent Fixzins-Obligation 2013–2017 Serie 62 can be sold at the prevailing market price. However, it should be noted that the bond is subject to price fluctuations during the term. If the investment is not held to maturity, the investor may recover less than the invested capital. Bank Austria is liable with its entire assets for the payment of interest and capital.
Investors wishing to take advantage of the investment-related tax allowance must hold the 1.70 per cent Fixzins-Obligation 2013–2017 Serie 62 bond as part of their fixed assets for at least four years and it must have a remaining period to maturity of four years. Securities sold before the expiry of the four-year term will be subject to subsequent taxation unless physical assets which benefit from tax concessions are purchased in lieu of the securities sold.
