The SmartBanking customer service approach has been voted "the most innovative financial service in 2013" by a clear majority of participants at the 27th Alpbach Finance Symposium. Bank Austria has won this award for the fourth consecutive time.

With SmartBanking, Bank Austria offers highly qualified personal advice on the complete range of banking products – from finance to investments. SmartBanking is very different from the limited services provided by online banks. Every customer can contact her or his own relationship manager and arrange an appointment for an advisory session. Moreover, customers can use Bank Austria's entire branch network. Bank Austria's online banking services and self-service zones enable customers to settle routine banking transactions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We are integrating the Internet, MobileBanking with innovative apps, advisory services via video telephony and a modernised branch network with upgraded self-service zones into a new service approach.
Extended advisory service hours
As a first step, SmartBanking advisory service hours have been extended to 8 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays, giving customers the opportunity to use such services extensively in their offices or homes. There are plans to further extend service hours to 10 p.m. and offer advisory services also on Saturdays.
