Charity appeal for Red Cross raises EUR 500,000

  • Donations made in response to the charity appeal launched by Bank Austria for flood victims exceeded EUR 500,000 within three weeks; all of the money goes directly to the Red Cross
  • The Austrian Red Cross and Bank Austria thank all donors
  • All donations go directly to the donation account of the Red Cross and will benefit flood victims

Donations made in the three weeks to 26 June 2013 in response to Bank Austria's charity appeal in favour of people affected by the floods totalled about EUR 500,000. The donation account no. 10002935301, Austrian routing code 12000, was set up for donations to provide immediate help for the relief operations of the Red Cross. The donations are earmarked for the Red Cross, "Hochwasserhilfe 2013". All donations go directly to the donation account of the Red Cross and will benefit flood victims.

Many employees of Bank Austria volunteered to provide assistance to flood victims and were given leave of absence by the bank.
