Career’s Best Recruiters: Bank Austria is the number three among more than 500 Austrian companies – and the number one in the banking sector

  • In the biggest Austrian recruiting study, "Career’s Best Recruiters", Bank Austria was voted among the top three out of 500 companies, and the number one in the banking sector
  • Online recruiting presence, recruiting activities, treatment of applicants as well as the applicants’ feedback were the essential criteria in the evaluation
  • The festive award ceremony was held by Karlheinz Töchterle, Minister for Economic Affairs
  • Bank Austria can thus once more underline its position as one of the top employers of the country and is offering 80 new apprenticeship places in 2013

With the support of the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration, Austria’s biggest recruiting study, "Career’s Best Recruiters" analyses the search for applicants on the part of the 500 biggest Austrian companies. In this connection, websites, social web activities and presence on online job platforms are examined as well as recruiting PR campaigns, cooperation with universities, colleges and schools, and the presence at recruiting fairs. The reaction to unsolicited applications as well as in personal contact with the applicants is also decisive. The direct feedback from the applicants also constituted an important factor in the evaluation. The applicants’ experiences with the employers are accumulated in this point.

Presence on social media platforms
As one of the most innovative, active and open companies, Bank Austria is present on various platforms. In addition to the company’s own website, Bank Austria presents itself as an employer on Facebook and faces applicants, employees and apprentices in a transparent manner on kununu.at, a platform where employers can be evaluated. On the online platform whatchadoo.net, the bank presents itself openly with videos employees giving viewers comprehensive insights into their daily work.

Clear processes and professional organisation
Clear processes and a professional organisation are decisive criteria at Bank Austria in order to be able to address the needs of every applicant individually. This also includes good cooperation within the teams because in case applicants are not suitable for the job they applied for, they might be qualified for another job. This attentiveness in the recruiting process contributes considerably to the quality of service.

Our efforts on behalf of the applicants begin prior to the actual recruiting process, insofar as Bank Austria has a strong presence as a practice partner for schools, colleges and universities. In the recruiting process itself, the commitment to the applicant can be seen in various areas. The recruiters put great emphasis on already addressing questions in the first telephone talks, on finding alternative solutions and giving the applicant a personal impression of the company.

80 new apprenticeship places for 2013
Within the framework of its training programme "BestStart", Bank Austria is once more going to offer young people secure and long-term apprenticeship places in 2013. "With the creation of approximately 80 new apprenticeship places for trainees, high school graduates and university graduates, we are once again investing  strongly in the future and declare ourselves to be a training company", Doris Tomanek emphasises. Bank Austria is in search of young people who speak good English and are interested in the banking business and in economic interrelationships, who take pleasure in working with people and have a high degree of commitment and willingness to learn.
