Bank Austria MegaCard relocates to Facebook
- Bank Austria’s account for young people, which is offered free of charge, is breaking new ground: the portal www.megacard.at is moving to Facebook (facebook.com/megacard)
- To help with the move, MegaCard is calling on young people to participate in an interactive smashdown to remove the old website from the Internet
- Facebook will offer MegaCard users support in various areas (application check) and buckets of fun (events, competitions)
The MegaCard has always been the coolest account for young people on the Austrian banking market for all 14 to 20 year-olds. Now Bank Austria is breaking new ground and – with the help of young users – is relocating the website from www.megacard.at to Facebook facebook.com/megacard through a website smashdown. A competition offers all participants the opportunity to win 10x2 tickets for the FM4 Frequency Festival in St. Pölten’s Green Park.
"We want to address young people as equals and offer them interactive value added", says Martin Nowicki, Head of Marketing at Bank Austria for private customers and small and medium-sized companies, "Facebook is the ideal platform for us and we invite everyone to help us switch off the MegaCard website. There will be fun for all".
The Bank Austria mega website smashdown
The deconstruction of the website www.megacard.at will become a "mega website smashdown". "The Wrestler and his Sister", as testimonials, will as a team support the MegaCard users. The testimonials accompany the smashdown and every user’s "I like it" sets off an attack by the wrestler or his sister on the existing MegaCard website and is at the same time a "like" for the new Facebook page. In different videos the MegaCard team shows how the testimonials try to bring down the MegaCard website with strength, skill and teamwork, and how the website relocates to Facebook.
