UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions Austria completes UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions SCpA, the Group’s global service company

  • UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions Austria GmbH starts on 1 February 2012. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions S.C.p.A., launched on 1 January 2012.
  • The new company, based in Vienna, has approximately 2,400 employees and combines IT, operations, facility management, security and procurement in a new entity.
  • The managing directors of the new company are Herbert Hangel, Vincenzo Contento and Paolo Cederle, who is CEO of the global company.

UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions Austria combines various companies which were integrated step by step over the past few months to form a single company. The first step was the bundling of the former IT companies UGIS (UniCredit Global Information Services) and BAGIS (Bank Austria Global Information Services) in UGIS Austria as at 1 July 2011. In a second step carried out in the course of 2011, some units of Bank Austria Procurement and Security and the Strategic Procurement Coordination CEE unit of the permanent establishment were integrated in UGIS Austria. The third step was the integration of the back-office services provider UCBP (UniCredit Business Partner GmbH), including its branches in Poland and Romania, with UGIS Austria turning into UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions Austria as at 1 February 2012. The last step will involve DOMUS Facility Management.

UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions Austria offers Bank Austria, its main customer, more efficient and client-oriented banking services. The newly created company in Austria is a subsidiary of the global company, headquartered in Milan. The company’s integrated services model makes it unique in the European financial sector, based on an end-to-end approach in order to ensure that clients are provided with best-quality services.

“UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions Austria enhances service effectiveness and optimises costs while also bringing new development and career opportunities for our employees. Bank Austria, our most important customer, can fully concentrate on its core business because a single point of contact will make cooperation easier and Bank Austria colleagues will no longer need to be familiar with our processes and internal organisation to receive the services they need,” says Herbert Hangel, managing director of UBIS Austria and spokesman of the company´s management team.

“The integration of UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions Austria fulfils on a global scale the All4Quality programme, which represents the first tangible result of the Group Strategic Plan,” says Paolo Cederle, CEO of UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions.

With UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions SCpA, UniCredit has established one of the first service providers for banks in Europe. In addition to taking regional needs into account, the new organisation can offer its internal customers – i.e. UniCredit’s local banks – internationally developed services, thus further enhancing efficiency, economies of scale and standardisation.

UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions SCpA is the strategic response to the new regulatory framework – including Basel III, deposit insurance and national levies on banks – and the market environment, which presents banks with major challenges. UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions SCpA makes it possible to shield banks as customers from the complexity of all underlying processes, enabling them to focus on their core business by providing them with a single point of contact for all services they need. The new model helps to unlock Europe-wide synergies and optimisation and achieves significant cost reduction: direct costs throughout Europe are expected to be reduced by 16 per cent in the period to 2015.
