New top managers in Bank Austria's risk management
- Michael Glaser has been appointed Head of Corporate & Investment Banking Credit Operations – he succeeds Dieter Hengl, who joined Bank Austria’s Management Board on 1 August and is now responsible for the Corporate & Investment Banking Division
- Markus Krause succeeds Michael Glaser as Head of Strategic Risk Management & Control
Michael Glaser, 44, has headed Corporate & Investment Banking Credit Operations with about 140 employees since 1 August 2011. This department is responsible for the assessment of and decision-making on credit risk in Corporate & Investment Banking in Austria. Additional tasks are balance sheet analysis and company analysis, monitoring and quality management in Corporate & Investment Banking.
Markus Krause, 43, was appointed Head of Strategic Risk Management & Control with about 90 employees with effect from 1 August 2011. This department is responsible for risk controlling with regard to credit and operational risk within the Bank Austria Group and is concerned with the development of credit risk methodologies for the Bank Austria Group (Austria and CEE) as well as Basel II compliance.
Michael Glaser studied business administration at the University of Vienna and started his career with the former Creditanstalt in 1994. In 1999, he became Deputy Head of Credit Risk Methods and Portfolio Management at Bank Austria. Thereafter Michael Glaser held various managerial positions at Bank Austria, most recently as Head of Strategic Risk Management & Control.
Markus Krause studied mathematics and statistics at the University of Bochum. He worked at renowned German banks in Düsseldorf and Cologne. In 2006, Markus Krause joined Bank Austria as Head of Credit Risk Methods & Instruments.
