Bank Austria has signed a cooperation agreement with Albertina for three years – from 1st January 2011 to 31st December 2013. Once a calendar year, Bank Austria will sponsor, promote and exclusively present a great exceptional exhibition of Albertina. "The Blue Rider" exhibition is the first joint project within the framework of the partnership.

"The cooperation with Albertina excellently adds up to our commitment to the Bank Austria Kunstforum, which is and will be among the most successful  exhibition halls in Vienna", Bank Austria CEO Willi Cernko points out. "This cooperation provides us with the opportunity to open up Albertina's historically grown collection to our partners and customers across Europe. For instance within the framework of special exhibitions – also on locations outside Vienna, as for instance in UniCredit affiliates in Italy, Germany and Poland."

"We are glad about having won Bank Austria as partner which has excelled by its commitment to visual arts for many years", says Albertina Director Klaus Albrecht Schröder. "This commitment is shown by the really notable collection of contemporary art as well as by the Bank Austria Kunstforum which is a significant institution for Austria's museum landscape."

With this cooperation, Bank Austria completes its existing quality partnerships with renowned domestic cultural institutions which are taken note of also on international level. Among them is the Wiener Musikverein, one of the world's most important concert halls, as well as the Theater in der Josefstadt, one of the leading theatres in German-speaking countries.

Albertina is among the world's most respected museums and has the most important graphic collection anywhere with about 1 million of works of art – drawings, watercolours and prints from the late Gothic period to the present. It is moreover one of Austria's few museums which can show a large number of major works from the international Classic Modern Art – with the works coming from Albertina’s own collection as well as from private collections trusted with the museum.
