Europe-wide efficiency-enhancement programme "All4Quality" starts in Austria: New service company ensures even more efficiency in Bank Austria's customer business

  • Bank Austria will integrate several companies until the middle of 2012 and will bundle mainly IT, Operations, Real Estate, Security, Technical Training and Procurement activities in a new company.
  • The establishment  of this new company in Austria is part of the large project "All4Quality".
  • According to the model under study the new service company should be launched in mid-2012 with around 2,500 employees and offer its services to Bank Austria and the UniCredit banks within the CEE region.

Banks are confronted with big challenges due to the new regulatory framework such as Basel III, deposit guarantees or national bank tax as well as the market environment. For this reason Bank Austria has planned a comprehensive and sustainable programme aimed at cost reduction and efficiency enhancement, which is to be implemented throughout UniCredit by mid-2012: All4Quality, a strategic project which will allow the banking group to take advantage of synergy effects on a pan-European scale and thereby achieve cost savings.

Highest service quality without job cuts
"The new company will raise service quality for Bank Austria as a whole. This company will not merely assume the role of processor but will also be a provider of innovative services. One of the main objectives is the cross-border harmonisation of IT and back-office processes. On this basis it is planned to achieve strategic goals such as efficiency enhancement, a reduction of processing costs and stronger competitiveness," says Herbert Hangel, Head of Global Banking Services, who is responsible for the implementation of the “All4Quality” project in Austria.

Starting in 2011 and by mid-2012, the IT companies Bank Austria Global Information Services (BAGIS) and the Austrian branch of UniCredit Global Information Services (UGIS), the facility management activities of Bank Austria, and the back-office services provider UniCredit Business Partner (UCBP) are to be bundled in the service company. In addition, selected Global Banking Services units of Bank Austria are to be integrated into the newly formed company. The new enterprise will employ around 2,500 staff members. No job cuts are foreseen.
