Global Finance names Bank Austria "Best Trade Finance Provider"
The US financial magazine Global Finance has named Bank Austria the "Best Trade Finance Provider 2010" in Austria. This was the result of an annual survey among analysts, managers and technology experts. This is the second year in a row that the honour has gone to Austria's market leader. The most important selection criteria for the award are transaction volume, the geographic range of coverage, customer service, a competitive price structure and innovative technologies.
According to Helmut Bernkopf, the member of Bank Austria's Management Board responsible for Corporate & Investment Banking: "Especially in these difficult times, this award from Global Finance is a great recognition of the efforts of our employees. UniCredit Group's international network and our comprehensive range of products allow us to offer Austrian companies unique advantages when it comes to documentary and guarantee business."
With a balance sheet total of EUR 204.3 billion and earnings before tax of EUR 1.2 billion as of 30 September 2009, Bank Austria, which is a member of UniCredit Group, is not only Austria's largest bank, but also its most profitable. Within UniCredit Group, Bank Austria is responsible for all business in Central and Eastern Europe, with the exception of Poland.
