Within the framework of the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour presented by UniCredit, Bank Austria makes it possible: The precious UEFA Champions League Trophy will come to the Town Hall Square in Vienna from Thursday, 14th October, to Sunday, 17th October 2010, as final stop of the Trophy Tour. Football fans in Vienna will thus have the unique opportunity to get a first-hand experience of the exciting atmosphere of the UEFA Champions League and the cup of the world’s most prestigious club competition.
The Austrian capital will be the final stop of the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour 2010. To start the event in Vienna, the major show truck with a length of 19 m and painted in the colours of UEFA Champions League sponsor UniCredit will drive around Ring Street at 10.00 a.m. on 14th October, with the trophy being visible to everyone passing by. At 2.00 p.m., the eagerly awaited press conference with UEFA Champions League Ambassador Luís Figo and Bank Austria CEO Willibald Cernko will take place in the specially built UEFA Champions League Village on the Town Hall Square in Vienna. The press conference will be broadcast as live stream on the Facebook page of the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour 2010 presented by UniCredit (http://www.facebook.com/UniCreditChampions). Another international surprise guest will cause media’s interest and corresponding fan response at this final event of the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour.
Until Sunday everything will be about football on the Town Hall Square. Fans will not only be able to marvel at the Original Trophy of the competition, the world’s hardest to win. Each day they will moreover have the unique opportunity to have a photo taken with the UEFA Champions League Trophy. Also, fans will be able to try their luck with the Take-a-Ticket prize game and win UEFA Champions League tickets.
An eventful supporting programme will lead to a superlative spirit during the Trophy Tour, a real UEFA Champions League atmosphere. ORF sports reporter Michael Berger and Michael Konsel, Austria’s national number one goalkeeper for many years, will present the Trophy Tour in Vienna. SK Rapid stadium announcer Andy Marek will make the UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour Village a real football arena in his unrivalled manner.
Fans of Austrian record champion SK Rapid will have two opportunities to receive autographs from their favourite players. At the beginning of the event, on Thursday, 14th October 2010, Helge Payer, Jürgen Patocka, Ragnvald Soma and Markus Heikkinen will sign autographs between 4.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. On Sunday, 17th October 2010, players Veli Kavlak, Yasin Pehlivan, Christopher Drazan, Tanju Kayhan, Thomas Hinum and Atdhe Nuhiu will sign autographs for fans between 2.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. Moreover, some sports legends will be part of the varied programme on Sunday, much to the delight of the football fans.
On the final day, the great October Festival party with prominent football players and a soccer tournament, in which everyone can participate who wants to compete in football, will take place in the Village.
