Bank Austria employees donate EUR 31,408 to SOS Children's Village
Bank Austria renews 10 sponsorships throughout Austria
Bank Austria sponsored one family in each of the ten Austrian SOS Children's Villages last year. The bank‘s large donation this year of EUR 31,408 was made possible once again thanks to the dedication of its employees, and it will allow the intense partnership with SOS Children's Village to continue in the form of excellent projects for the families.
Encouraged by the goal of donating to a worthy cause, more than 7,800 Bank Austria employees took part in this year's Group-wide employee survey. For each questionnaire, EUR 4 was added to the donation pot for the family sponsorships. "With an excellent participation rate of nearly 80 per cent, our employees have once again shown that they are devoted not only to the future of our bank but also to the future of the children in the SOS Children's Villages," says Ralph Müller, a member of Bank Austria's management board, pleased about the result. "The sum will allow us to offer financial support in the realisation of upcoming projects for the ten sponsored families."
Hand in hand for SOS Children's Village
Ralph Müller visited the SOS Children's Village in Hinterbrühl and the sponsored families living there, and he handed over the donation cheque to the managing director of SOS Children's Village Lower Austria, Monika Franta. "I am very pleased that the partnership is being intensified to meet the needs of our families as a result of the conscientiousness of Bank Austria's employees. This shows that the collaboration with the largest bank in the country is also having effects within the company," says Ms Franta.
Each Bank Austria sponsorship supports a family made up of a Children's Village mother or a Children's Village father and three to seven children. With this support, these families can finance their daily expenses and acquisitions that would otherwise not be part of their budget – like toys and therapeutic materials.
The children prepared a healthy snack in the afternoon together with the owners of the Viennese restaurant EssStadt. After the cheque was handed over, the children made a healthy, low-calorie dinner for all of the families at the SOS Children's Village in Hinterbrühl under the guidance of Gordana Miac and Thorsten Petzold of EssStadt. The ingredients for the meal were sponsored by the restaurant owners.
