Herbert Brandl has designed Bank Austria's new KünstlerSparbuch savings book

• Each new KünstlerSparbuch supports young people in their job entry phase
• Reduced access fees to two exhibitions of the Bank Austria Kunstforum 2010
• Guaranteed interests of 2.375 % p.a. with a term of 26 months.

Bank Austria is providing a particularly attractive KünstlerSparbuch also this year, for the first time in connection with charity. For each new savings book, Bank Austria will spend 50 cents to the "Space!lab" youth job project. The economic downturn last year has also had an impact on the labour market for young people. Bank Austria is thus supporting young people in their job entry phase this year. The "Space!lab" project allows for young people aged 15 to 24 not only to learn craft skills but also to practice them, as for instance by tending public parks and gardens or by renovating kindergartens and schools. In addition, they will also be coached for the ability to work in a team and to handle conflict situations in order to have the best possible prerequisites for entering the labour market. The project is carried out by a project group of the cultural society WUK Werkstätten- und Kulturhaus and the non-profit organisation Volkshilfe Beschäftigung. For more information please have a look at  www.space-lab.at. The charity's aim is to spend the money donated on a vehicle which allows the young people to get to their places of action with their tools and working material fast. The vehicle is to be handed over to the society still this year.

The limited edition of the KünstlerSparbuch has a term of 26 months and fixed interests of 2.375 per cent p.a. The minimum deposit is EUR500.

The artist Herbert Brandl from Vienna has designed the cover of the savings book. Mr Brandl was born in Graz in 1959 and in 1978 began his studies at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Since 2004, the artist has had a chair at the Arts Academy of Düsseldorf. Since the mid-1980ies, Herbert Brandl has participated in various, internationally important exhibitions – from the Biennale de Paris to the documenta IX and the Biennale di Venezia.

The KünstlerSparbuch also allows for a reasonable entry to the world of art as everybody who decides for the new savings book will be able to buy two tickets for the exhibitions of the  Bank Austria Kunstforum 2010 for EUR2 only (standard price: EUR9) per ticket.

The KünstlerSparbuch will be available from 8th to 30th of October, 2009, in each branch of Bank Austria.
