Bank Austria is a national supporter of the UEFA EURO 2008TM:
Main Building at Lassallestraße Will Be Covered with Huge Mesh Banners
As a part of UniCredit Group, Bank Austria is one of four national supporters of the UEFA EURO 2008TM, and it is using the large sporting event as an opportunity to give a striking signal in its outdoor advertising: From today until the end of the European Football Championship, the Bank Austria building at Lassallestraße 1 in Vienna's second district will be covered with three oversized mesh banners. Its proximity to Ernst Happel Stadium and to the Vienna Praterstern railway station makes this building the ideal location for this exceptional advertising campaign. Ultimately, thousands of international football fans will pass the Bank Austria building on the match days.
HSW manufactured the banners, which each measure 22 by 16.75 metres. The theme of the "football grandma" is being featured on the side of the building facing Walcherstraße and the Vienna Praterstern railway station, the theme of the "football bank consultant" on the corner of Lassallestraße and the theme of the "fair fan" along with Vienna's host city logo on the adjacent part of the building facing Reichsbrücke. This theme is a product of a joint initiative by Bank Austria and the city of Vienna. The banners, made of a robust, weatherproof mesh vinyl, were hung by climbers from blowUP media project, who have already covered the World Trade Center in Dubai. Because the Bank Austria building is covered in fine flagstones, it was not possible to drill into the facade in order to attach the banners.
The mesh advertisements from HSW are translucent so the employees in the offices behind the advertisements can still work in natural light.
