Gründerfonds sells successful water dispenser specialist Blue Dolphin

In selling water dispenser specialist Blue Dolphin, early stage fund Gründerfonds GmbH & Co KEG has brought a successful and constructive equity financing to a close. In seven years Blue Dolphin Handelsgesellschaft mbH has grown from a young business to one of the most important market players in the German-speaking area.

Gründerfonds invested the equity capital in three tranches, allowing Blue Dolphin to finance organic growth and important acquisitions to develop its market position in Austria and Germany. During the period of investment by Gründerfonds it was possible for the company to increase its turnover by almost a factor of five.

Since 1997 Blue Dolphin has been involved in selling and servicing water dispensers and is currently Austria's second biggest provider. Founders and present managing partners Christian Deutschbauer and Mark Groves have many years' experience in the sector. "Management's decision in favour of an investment by Gründerfonds allowed the company to grow and ultimately massively increased the company's value," explains Gero Parfuss, Gründerfonds' Managing Director.

Gründerfonds' switch-out took place as a result of the company's sale to Austrian market leader Triple A Aqua Service. Further details of the transaction are governed by a confidentiality agreement.
