2007 SEE Real Estate Awards: Bank Austria honoured with two awards
- Bank Austria receives Bank of the Year Award from real estate publisher Europaproperty
- Maria Teresa Dreo named LandAmerica Woman of the Year
- Recognition of investment activities in the emerging South Eastern European (SEE) market
At the 2007 SEE Real Estate Awards, a gala event organised by the real estate publisher Europaproperty and held in Bucharest with an audience of 350 invited guests, the jury of international experts honoured Bank Austria with not just one, but two distinguished awards. First, Bank Austria was named Bank of the Year as the best international bank in South Eastern Europe last year. Second, Maria Teresa Dreo, managing director of Bank Austria's International Real Estate Finance division, received the LandAmerica Woman of the Year award. With these awards, Europaproperty recognises the successful work of real estate development companies, best-practice investment projects and the growing international importance of the South Eastern European market for commercial real estate.
"We're really pleased about the award because it highlights the excellent work our division is doing in South Eastern Europe," says Maria Teresa Dreo, adding, "As a member of UniCredit Group, Bank Austria is active in the real estate industry throughout the Balkan region, whereby our focus is on Romania and Bulgaria. However, we are also active in Croatia, a market that is experiencing dynamic growth, and Serbia, where we are currently collaborating with UniCredit Serbia in financing of fourth development and investment phase of Airport City Belgrade."
Bank Austria aims to become the regional market leader in the real estate financing sector over the next few years. In some countries, such as Bulgaria, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, subsidiary banks of UniCredit Group and Bank Austria are already the market leaders.
