Bank Austria Creditanstalt Job Note: Erich Mayer new General Manager at BA-CA Finanzservice
Bank Austria Creditanstalt (BA-CA) Finanzservice is getting a new two-person management team: Erich Mayer, 50, assumed responsibility for personnel, finances, controlling, organisation, IT and product support at the beginning of March. Mayer is also responsible for channel management for BA-CA’s customer business in Austria as before. Siegfried Prietl is still the other general manager in the company and is now responsible for all sales channels and for collaboration with the sales partners. Peter Lazar stepped down from his position as general manager and is now working exclusively for HVB Finanzservice. Gerhard Mittelbach is planning on taking on a new post outside of the bank group in the middle of 2007.
Erich Mayer was born in Vienna and began his career in the BA-CA Group as a branch employee in 1973. In the early 1990s, he took over the direction of the department for non-stationary sales channels, and the direction of the marketing department in 1995. He was appointed general manager of Data Austria in 1999, which operated the call centre and e-business systems of BA-CA. After his return to the bank in 2005, Erich Mayer was responsible for channel management. In this position, he was responsible for developing and introducing BA-CA’s multi-channel sales strategy.
BA-CA Finanzservice is the umbrella organisation for Bank Austria Creditanstalt’s mobile sales activities, including its field agents, FinanceCenter, AkademikerService, institutional sales partners and independent asset managers. BA-CA Finanzservice generated new business of roughly EUR 2.5 million last year with its 2,500 partners. BA-CA Finanzservice’s agents cover “gaps” on the map and are an ideal complement to BA-CA’s Austria-wide branch network of roughly 400 branches.
