BA-CA voted best bank in Austria

  • Euromoney: "Best Bank in Austria 2007"
  • UK finance magazine bestows awards on several UniCredit Group banks

The renowned UK finance magazine Euromoney has awarded Bank Austria Creditanstalt (BA-CA) the title of "Best Bank in Austria 2007". The magazine justifies its decision with the fact that BA-CA was able to improve its position in a mature market like Austria – and thus to take it from competitors. More specifically, Euromoney states that BA-CA was able to win a total of 30,000 new clients in 2006 and expanded its market shares both in the retail business as well as in asset management. In the corporate client business BA-CA already has shares of up to 85 percent.

For two years now BA-CA has been part of UniCredit Group and in this time, as Euromoney went on to explain, it has managed to strengthen its position significantly. Whereas BA-CA was responsible for 12 countries prior to its integration into UniCredit Group, its scope of business has since doubled, according to Euromoney.

The finance magazine had further awards in store for UniCredit Group: it has been named "Best Bank in Western Europe", "Best Bank in Italy", "Best Bank in Bulgaria" and "Best Bank in Poland". Additionally the Group won the titles "Best Investors' Service in CEE", "Best Investment Bank in Bulgaria" and "Best Equity in Poland".

In previous years BA-CA has received awards over 250 times for its services in Central and Eastern Europe. The finance magazines Euromoney and The Banker repeatedly named BA-CA "Best Bank" and "Bank of the Year". Numerous prizes were also awarded in the fields of custody, trade finance, project finance, foreign exchange and to the CEE subsidiaries of UniCredit Group.
