Changes in the Managing Board of HVB Bank Hungary

In April, there will be two changes within the top management of HVB Bank Hungary. Matthias Kunsch, Chief Executive Officer of HVB Bank Hungary, and Ágnes Doffek, Managing Board member responsible for corporate banking, decided to leave the bank for retirement. The following persons will join the Managing Board of HVB Bank Hungary as of 15 April 2006:

  • Mihály Patai will assume responsibility as Chief Executive Officer of HVB Bank Hungary. He is a well-known expert with a large knowledge of the Hungarian financial market: Mr Patai, 52, has been Chairman of the Management Board of Allianz Hungary for the past ten years. He previously held management positions at Hungarian Credit Bank, the World Bank in Washington and the Hungarian Ministry of Finance.
  • Ágnes Radványi will be in charge of corporate customer business of HVB Bank Hungary at Managing Board level. Mrs Radványi, 51, has been working for the bank since 1992. Since 1999, she has headed the Corporate Customers division. Before joining HVB Bank Hungary, Mrs Radványi worked for various Hungarian companies including Modex and Hungarocoop.

The changes are subject to approval by the Hungarian authorities.

After the changes have become effective, the new Managing Board of HVB Bank Hungary will consist of Mihály Patai (CEO), Tibor Rácz (Retail Customers), Ágnes Radványi (Corporate Customers), Markus Winkler (INM), and Ralf Cymanek (OPM). 

Matthias Kunsch has been working within the Hungarian subsidiary of Bank Austria Creditanstalt (BA-CA) for 31 years. In 1975, he opened in Budapest the first representative office of the Group in CEE and was thus a pioneer in the region. Since that time, he has been a driving force behind HVB Bank Hungary’s successful development on the market and contributed considerably to the bank's growth and expansion. His knowledge and reputation made him to one of the leading Hungarian financial experts, well known as well behind the borders of the country.

Ágnes Doffek has been responsible for corporate customer business since 1990. She has made a strong contribution to developing the position of HVB Bank Hungary in the corporate banking segment, establishing the bank as one of the leading financial institutions in this area.
