General Meeting elects three new members to Supervisory Board of Bank Austria Creditanstalt
Mr Carlo Salvatori is the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Mr Robert Zadrazil is the new Chief Operating Officer on BA-CA's Managing Board
At a General Meeting held in the afternoon today, Mr Carlo Salvatori, Mr Alessandro Profumo and Mr Sergio Ermotti were elected as new members of the Supervisory Board of Bank Austria Creditanstalt (BA-CA). At the meeting of the Supervisory Board held immediately after the General Meeting, Mr Salvatori was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
Mr Robert Zadrazil was appointed to the Managing Board of BA-CA with effect from 26 January 2006. As Chief Operating Officer (COO) he will assume responsibility for the Global Banking Services Division (Organisation, IT, Operations, Facility Management, Procurement). Mr Zadrazil has so far been head of the division “Group ORG/IT Management”. This division was temporarily overseen by Mr Erich Hampel, Chairman of BA-CA's Managing Board.
Mr Carlo Salvatori (64) was elected to the Supervisory Board of BA-CA with 99.94 per cent of the share capital represented when the resolution was passed. Mr Salvatori is Deputy Chairman of UniCredit. He held the post of Chairman of UniCredit from 2002 to 2006. Mr Salvatori, born in Sora (Italy), was a member of the Supervisory Board of the then Bank Austria from May 1999 to December 2000.
Mr Alessandro Profumo (48) was elected to the Supervisory Board of BA-CA with 99.94 per cent of the share capital represented when the resolution was passed. Mr Profumo has been Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Group since it was founded in 1998.
Mr Sergio Ermotti (45) was elected to the Supervisory Board of BA-CA with 99.94 per cent of the share capital represented when the resolution was passed. Since December 2005, Mr Ermotti has been Head of Multinationals/Investment Banking Division and a member of the Management Committee of UniCredit Group. He was born in Lugano (Switzerland).
Mr Ermotti has in the past worked for Merrill Lynch.
Mr Robert Zadrazil (35) was appointed to BA-CA's Managing Board by the Supervisory Board with effect from 26 January 2006. As Chief Operating Officer (COO) he assumes responsibility for the Global Banking Services Division (Organisation, IT, Operations, Facility Management). Mr Zadrazil has so far been head of the division “Group ORG/IT Management”. His responsibilities in this function include the development of uniform standards and processes, cooperation with IT subsidiaries, and procurement. From 1993, Mr Zadrazil, who was born in Vienna, has carried out various IT projects for the BA-CA Group, including the integration of data processing systems of Bank Austria and Creditanstalt.
The election of the new Supervisory Board members took place after the previous Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Mr Michael Mendel, and the previous Supervisory Board members Mr Stefan Jentzsch and Mr Michael Kemmer had resigned from the Supervisory Board.
Mr Wolfgang Sprissler, Spokesman of the Management Board of HypoVereinsbank, will remain on the Supervisory Board of BA-CA.
