Bank Austria Creditanstalt again "Best Bank in CEE"

Bank Austria Creditanstalt (BA-CA) has again been named "Best Bank in CEE" by Euromoney, the British financial magazine. The bank has won this award for the fourth time in succession. BA-CA has also received the award for "Best Custody in CEE". Moreover, BA-CA Group has won several country awards, being referred to as "Best M&A House in Poland", "Best Debt House in Croatia" and "Best Debt House in Hungary". In addition the bank has been rated "Best Bank in Austria“ for the eleventh time in succession. BPH PBK, the Polish subsidiary of Bank Austria Creditanstalt, was named "Best Bank in Poland“. Friedrich Kadrnoska, the member of BA-CA's Managing Board who is responsible for operations in Central and Eastern Europe: "I am very pleased with these awards. They confirm our leading position in the CEE region, which we aim to further expand in the future."
In the current year Bank Austria Creditanstalt Group has also received a number of other awards. In May, Global Finance, the US magazine, named it "Best Bank in CEE“. Earlier in the year, BA-CA was voted, "Best Trade Finance Bank in Austria and CEE" (Global Finance, February 2003) and "Best Foreign Exchange Bank in CEE" (Global Finance, March 2003). In spring this year, CA IB received the "Deal of the Year in CEE" award from Acquisitions Monthly and Euromoney for consulting the takeover of Lek, a Slovenian company, by Novartis, the pharmaceuticals group.
Bank Austria Creditanstalt is the leading network bank in Central and Eastern Europe, with 18,000 employees serving more than 3.5 million customers in 11 countries. The bank is consistently expanding its CEE network: in March 2003, BA-CA opened a representative office in Macedonia, and in June the bank signed the agreement to purchase Central Profit banka, the fourth-largest bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"Euromoney", headquartered in London, is a monthly magazine specialising in finance, with a worldwide readership of about 160,000. The magazine addresses primarily top managers and financial experts. The election of the winners of the Euromoney Awards for Excellence is conducted by a jury and is based on surveys and company analyses.
