At the 33rd Alpbach Financial Symposium the "FinTech Award Alpbach 2019" of UniCredit Bank Austria went to the Institute of Microtraining. The prize is endowed with 5,000 euros and was awarded for the second time this year.
Susanne Wendler, UniCredit Bank Austria Board Member for “Unternehmerbank”: "I would like to congratulate the Institute of Microtraining on the 'FinTech Award Alpbach 2019'. At UniCredit Bank Austria, we see digitalisation as a driver of change in the banking business. In this process, FinTechs are important sources of ideas and impetus for the established banks. We therefore see FinTechs as an enrichment and support for us. The aim of digital transformation is to increase efficiency and, above all, to further improve the customer experience".
Last year, a FinTech Centre was set up for the first time as part of the Alpbach Financial Symposium. Five selected FinTechs are invited to present themselves to the participants of the symposium who will also determine the winner. The award is sponsored by UniCredit Bank Austria.
"We are very pleased about this award and the recognition of our performance. Since 2010, we have been pioneers in organizing microtrainings and mobile learning. Right from the start, our goal was to realize the idea of targeted, sustainable and efficient learning in short learning units," says Rita Schmiederer, authorized officer at the Institute of Microtraining.
The Institute of Microtraining is one of the leading and most compact providers of mobile learning in Europe and has an excellent network of trainers. Technology, app development and content manufacture come from a single source. The learning app enables the sustainable acquisition of knowledge, offers real-time monitoring of learning progress, solves the issue of multilingualism and reduces the cost and time factor when it comes to education.
UniCredit uses digitalisation as a central lever for the transformation and development of its entire Group. Under the current strategic plan, UniCredit is investing 1.7 billion euros in IT and digital innovation across the Group by the end of 2019.
