Cross Border Services available in Romania at UniCredit Tiriac Bank SA

Cross Border Account Opening

Residents and Non-residents

  • are permitted to open Romanian Leu and Foreign Currency accounts in Romania and abroad.
  • Residents, maintaining Romanian Leu or Foreign Currency accounts, are obliged to report to the National Bank of Romania any transactions run via such accounts on a monthly basis, whereby the reporting has to be done until the 20th of the next following month (i.e. after the month for which the reporting is done).

Non-Residents

  • are permitted to open deposit accounts in Romanian Leu and Foreign Currency in Romania.

Special legal requirement for Non-residents creating administrational effort:

  • All documents must be in original or notarized copies. Translation into Romanian language must be done by a legal translator.
